Winding down the 2011 FrightTour with the second to last stop we screamed at Night of Terror on October 25, 2011. Surprisingly the venue is open the week of Halloween every day starting at 6 pm. So we were of course hoping it wouldn’t be as crowded like it would most likely be on Halloween Weekend but there was a decent amount of people there. As we pulled up and got our tickets I noticed the Ride of Terror which is the hayride takes you to Mayhem of Darkness, The Dreaded Cornfield Maze and The Frozen Tundra. Then you can either complete in no particular order the 3D Funhouse and Pirates Revenge. We were advised to start the night off with the hayride so of course following directions we made our way to the Ride of Terror.
After waiting in a small line to board the hayride we were finally on our way. This attraction was one of the most intense and most entertaining rides we have ever been on. With the movie like animatronics that were used so well, to the amazing sets that our wagon drove through. You couldn’t help yourself from staring in amazement. But that’s all we did, we noticed about half way through, this attraction relies solely on the big animatronic props and sets. Of course there were actors we encountered. However, it felt like the number of animatronics definitely outweighed the amount of actors which got a little repetitive. But still the hayride was a great one! Definitely one of the best that we have been on. Usually hayrides are a dime a dozen but this one in my opinion was much better then a certain one that has been praised year after year. If your a haunt enthusiast you know what I am talking about!
After the hayride we came to a stop in front of our first walk through attraction. Now this is where I realized that we should have done the hayride last because everyone who was in our hayride group walked through the Mayhem of Darkness together. Which by the way, nothing happened inside! I was waiting and waiting for something to happen because it was really dark in there, but nothing happened, it was really boring! We walked through and came out ready for the corn maze.
